Let us introduce ourselves and tell you a little about us.

Millwood Crafts was created by Ali & Su at the end of lockdown October 2020. They first met around seven years ago whilst walking their dogs over the local recreation ground. The humans, and the dogs hit it off straight away and have been great friends ever since. Ali’s dog Woody and Su’s dog Millie is where the name Millwood Crafts came from. Millie is on the left and Woody on the right of the logo. They are not only great friends, but now are business partners on the start of their exciting new journey.

During lockdown, they found a love of decoupage and found it very therapeutic. Su had learnt it from a class in December 2019 and gave a lesson for a couple of friends during lockdown. Ali took to it straight away and has continued to enhance her skills with different projects. You can see the improvement on each project she undertakes and can see the care and effort she puts into everything she sets out to decorate. The progress she has made in the short period of time Ali has been doing this craft tells us that there is bigger and better to come.

To think Ali had said ‘I don’t have a creative bone in my body’ when she came for the first lesson, and to see where she is now shows how far she has come. This is from hard work, watching tutorials, asking questions on local crafting sites and gaining the confidence to just go for it.

Su’s first craft was mainly card making and although she continues to make personalised cards, her main passion now is decoupage. She likes experimenting with different techniques and mediums to get the result which is unique in every piece created. Su has joined many social media groups to learn new skills and to share her own, picking up new ideas along the way. Su says ‘knowing someone enjoys receiving a home-made gift which has been made with love, and has taken time and effort to complete is an achievement in itself’
